The blog-creating process is done. Name has been chosen, preferred theme has been applied, custom header has been created. I click on my shiny-new URL and see the uninspiring customary first-post provided by WordPress. Jesus. Now, just what in the hell do I blog about?
I may be putting too much pressure upon myself for this. I have blogged in some form for about 10 years. From Diaryland when I was 14 to DeadJournal, then to LiveJournal, now here. Before all that, I sent out a newsletter on AOL to a list of subscribers who apparently didn’t mind reading my crappy 11-13 year-old poetry and ramblings about how much I loved Devon Sawa and Isaac Hanson. The others weren’t so much blogs as they were diary entries, but I digress. So, what to write about? I have a habit of making lists upon lists, lists about list, so.. naturally, I created a list.
– The spaghetti I had for lunch?
– How much I hate ice cube trays and what I would do to improve them?
– All of the crap I need to do around my apartment, but for some reason, can’t get inspired to do it?
– The movies I’ve watched this week?
– My ridiculous weekend?
– A job interview I had on Friday?
– My first night working at The Ledger?
– My grandmother’s passing, or more favorably, my grandmother?
– What do my cats think about when they just sit for hours on end, staring into space? And they think I’M the crazy one.
– ….?
So, there you have it. My first blog. About lists. If you are a fellow list-er, hold your head high! Salute the list! I’m sure there will be more to come. And more blogs about the subjects found in my incessant listing. But for now, I part.
